Vietravel Airlines will officially launch its first international service on December 16.
Vietravel Airlines will operate daily flights between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Bangkok (Thailand). It is known that this is the airline’s first foreign route since it was formally launched at the end of 2020.
“After nearly two years of operating domestic routes with more than 6,000 flights connecting major tourist cities in Vietnam, it’s time for the carrier to enter the international market,“ said Vu Duc Bien, General Director of Vietravel Airlines.
He also stated that Thailand is one of the company’s key Southeast Asian markets. Both Vietnam and Thailand have now reopened their borders to foreign travelers, eliminating the majority of the Covid restrictions.
Furthermore, before the pandemic, Thailand was regarded as Vietnam’s fastest expanding tourism market. According to data, the number of visitors from this country climbed by 46% year-on-year in 2019, to 509,000.
One-way tickets for this route are expected to be on sale on Friday for 660,000 VND (26.61 USD).
