The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) announced that from October 9-14, Vietnam will host the face-to-face Mekong Tourism Forum 2022 (MTF 2022) with the theme “Rebuild Tourism, Rebound with Resilience”.

The 2022 Mekong Tourism Forum will be held at Nam Hoi An resort (Hoiana), Quang Nam province. Since the Covid-19 pandemic, this will be the first face-to-face event that brings together leaders and tourism experts from six destinations in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS).

At the forum, trends and best practices impacting the recovery of the tourism industry such as digital transformation, supply chain localization, social enterprise business models, or adoption of the latest technologies, etc. will be discussed. In addition, panelists and experts will recommend necessary policies, regulations and investments to restore tourism and travel in general.

There is also a sustainable tourism exhibition of Vietnam and other countries in the GMS to display and promote tourism products and services that are responsible for the environment, the community, creating positive effects. Besides, the exhibition also has hands-on experience to understand the local culture; opportunities to exchange and connect directly with stakeholders in the tourism industry in both the public and private sectors.

Mekong Tourism Forum will be held at the resort located on the southern beach of Hoi An. Therefore, delegates could not only experience the unique culture of the UNESCO heritage city, but also learn more about how this destination leads the way in green tourism development in the region.

The Mekong Tourism Forum first took place in 1996 and has become an annual event dedicated to the tourism industry of the Greater Mekong Subregion, including Cambodia, China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam.
