Vietnam Airlines successfully tested IATA Travel Pass in the first flight from Vietnam to Europe.
Lately, Vietnam Airlines tested IATA Travel Pass in the first flight from Hanoi to London (U.K.) with 18 passengers. This flight followed the previous successful pilot flight, also operated by Vietnam Airlines, departing from Hanoi to Tokyo (Japan) on August 12.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) Travel Pass integrates leading digital solutions such as no-touch air travel, biometric data and e-health certificates, Covid-19 test results and proof of vaccination. The app helps boost international travel amid the pandemic, helping passengers at ease and ensuring that they meet requirements on arrival.
This app ensures consistent information among governments, testing facilities, airlines and passengers, thereby making travel among countries safer and easier in the pandemic. Experimental practice has shown that the implementation of the IATA Travel Pass application is very convenient and quick.
Next, Vietnam Airlines will continue the pilot project on flights from Hanoi to Seoul on September 12, to London on September 21, and on flights to Tokyo every Thursday.
Currently, Singapore, Qatar, Panama and Saudi Arabia have officially allowed passengers to use IATA Travel Pass on arrival. Since May 2021, more than 50 airlines around the world have announced to test this app, including Vietjet and Bamboo Airways, two airlines in Vietnam. Good results from test flights give hope for resuming international flight routes in the near future.
