Vietnam Airlines has seen positive results one year after launching a direct flight between Vietnam and the United States (November 28, 2021).
In its latest announcement, Vietnam Airlines said that its Ho Chi Minh City – San Francisco route served a total of 60,000 passengers, and the average load factor reached 72% after one year of operation.
Marc Knapper, U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam, shared: “I hope Vietnam Airlines will expand its flight network to other cities in the U.S. to meet the travel demand between the two countries”.
According to tourism management organizations’ statistics, the United States is the country with the second biggest number of tourists visiting Vietnam after COVID. Furthermore, there are a high number of Vietnamese (24,000) and abroad Vietnamese (2.2 million) students in the United States.
On the side of Vietnam Airlines, the airline said it will continue to operate routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Los Angeles in the near future.
Vietnam Airlines is well-known for being the country’s first local airline to offer direct flights to the United States. This route now operates three flights each week, using the two most contemporary aircraft including Boeing 787 and Airbus A350.
