After 18 months of postponement due to the pandemic, TUI finally officially launched TUI River Cruises on the Rhein in Germany.
The opening ceremony was held to celebrate the first ship of TUI Cruises.
The ship has two restaurants, two bars and a deck area designed for relaxation, wellness and more strenuous activity.
The first excursion for tourists departed on August 15, with the Moselle Valley itinerary visiting famous German attractions such as Frankfurt and Koblenz and several other destinations such as Trier, Piesport and Oberwesel.
Chris Hackney, managing director of Cruise Tui UK and Ireland, said: “We are delighted to finally launch Tui River Cruises and had a fitting celebration to get Tui River Cruises sailing in style. The team has worked tirelessly to get to this launch, and they’ve done a sensational job. The initial feedback we’ve had has been incredible and we’re now all really excited to welcome our first customers. People have been impressed by the elegant design and contemporary feel and surprised by how spacious the ship is.”
Winter sailings are proving increasingly popular with customers as international travel resumes. Setting sail from Oct. 31, customers can enjoy four new themed sailings on the Rhine.
