Two flight routes connecting Da Nang with Mumbai and New Delhi (India) were officially opened on October 8.
In particular, Vietjet Air is responsible for operating these two routes. The airline uses Airbus A321 aircraft on the flights. The Mumbai – Da Nang flight route has a frequency of 3 flights/week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The New Delhi – Da Nang route offers 4 flights/week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
In addition, the airline plans to open more direct flights from Da Nang to Ahmedabad (India) in December this year.
According to Tran Phuoc Son, Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People’s Committee, the opening of two new routes connecting Da Nang and India has significantly contributed to the increase in the number of international visitors to Da Nang. India has been evaluated as a potential tourism market in Southeast Asia since it has a total population of nearly 1.4 billion people.
He said that Da Nang city has organized many promotion activities and approached the markets of Europe, Korea, Singapore, India, and Japan to resume international routes.
Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director General of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, said that opening more routes between Vietnam and India is vital for connecting the economy, culture, and tourism between the cities and the two countries.
