The Thailand-Malaysia railway has reopened after a year of closure owing to the aftermath of the bombings.

According to The Nation (Thailand), the damaged tracks from the bombs have been rebuilt, checked for safety, and are ready to reopen.

Previously, on December 3, 2022, a train traveling from the Hat Yai region of Songkhla (Thailand) to Padang Besar (Malaysia) was derailed by a bomb explosion. Although no one was hurt, the explosion did significant damage to the carriages.

Then, on December 6, there was another explosion, killing three engineers and injuring four passengers. This railway line has been closed for repairs since the explosion.

Currently, the railway will restore service with two round trips every day. This is a popular route for Thai travelers to Malaysia, and it costs only 50 baht ($1.46).
