The Taiwanese airline, STARLUX Airlines, will open its first flight from Taipei to Ho Chi Minh City.
It is expected that STARLUX will operate 3 flights per week to Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, departing from Taoyuan International Airport.
The first flight will on 13 May. Air tickets have been opened for sale since 25 March.
Previously, STARLUX Airlines opened the first flight from Taipei to Da Nang on January 23, 2021. Currently, the airline is operating flights to Asia destinations including Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, Osaka, Bangkok, Cebu, Penang and Macau, using A321neo aircraft with 8 business class and 180 economy seats.
STARLUX Airlines was established in May 2018, focusing on operating routes in Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia.
The airline aims to expand its network to North America, serve transit passengers in Taipei on flights between Vietnam and the US and develop to become one of the leading airlines in the world in the future.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, STARLUX had to continuously adjust flight schedules to cater to business travel and cargo needs. The route from Taipei to Ho Chi Minh City is part of the airline’s post-pandemic recovery plan.
