In 2024, Hyatt will build the Hyatt Centric hotel brand in Hokkaido, the north of Japan. The Hyatt Centric Sapporo is its third property in Japan, having 216 rooms. The other two are Hyatt Centric Ginza Tokyo and Hyatt Centric Kanazawa.
It will locate on the top floors of a complex having 26 floors. The rooms will have panoramic views with two dining outlets and event spaces for various purposes.
Hyatt Centric Sapporo is next to the Akarenga-chosha, the former government office of Hokkaido, and near Odori Park. It is about a few minutes walk from the Odori subway station and a 10-minute walk from the JR Sapporo station.
The attractions of Sapporo are the annual Sapporo Snow Festival, displaying snow sculptures and ice installations in winter, ski resorts, national parks, and mountains.
Sam Sakamura, Hyatt’s vice president, Japan, and Micronesia, said, “We are honored to collaborate with NTT Urban Development Corporation on the first Hyatt Centric hotel in Hokkaido, one of the most fascinating destinations of Japan.”
“As the third Hyatt Centric hotel in Japan, we continue to expand Hyatt’s lifestyle brand presence to meet the diverse needs of the market and travelers. Meanwhile, we look forward to welcoming guests to discover Sapporo’s vibrant culture, thriving food scene, and Hokkaido’s spectacular landscapes,” added he.
