Airline Ratings has just announced the World Best Airlines 2021 chart and the first spot – Airline of the Year now belongs to Qatar Airways.
Australia-based AirlineRatings.com is a website that ranks airlines on safety as well as in-flight experiences. The annual chart is based on criteria including age of fleet, passenger reviews and product offerings. This year, there is one more criterion of airlines’ Covid-19 responses.
To be honoured as Airline of the Year, Qatar Airways has well afforded in-flight innovations, commitment to customers during pandemic, operational safety, environmental leadership,…
On behalf of the airline, Akbar Al Baker – Qatar Airways’ Chief Executive thanked for this title. He said: “Receiving the Airline of the Year award for 2021 is particularly special for Qatar Airways. Over the past 16 months, we have witnessed some of the darkest days ever seen by the aviation industry. Yet, when so many other airlines stopped flying, Qatar Airways continued to operate and stand by our passengers.”
This year, Qatar Airways successfully beat Air New Zealand – last year’s winner, down to second rank. Before, this airline used to top the Airline Ratings’ list six times. The next three names in the top 5 respectively are Singapore Airlines, Qantas and Emirates.
Other airlines also got the titles corresponding to their contribution. Among them, VietJet Air had the honour of receiving the Best Ultra Low-Cost airline award.
By this chart, travellers will have more reasons to choose an airline for their trip, while some destinations are open again.
