Pleasant Holidays and its luxury brand, Journese, have partnered with CVS Health to help travel advisors provide their clients with pretravel Covid-19 testing options.
The company announced the alliance Friday, a day after Hawaii removed its two-week quarantine requirement for visitors who test negative from approved labs within 72 hours of departing. Those traveling to the Big Island of Hawaii will be tested again on arrival, at no charge.
Hawaii requires that travelers are tested with an FDA-approved nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT), using a nasal swab, which should be no earlier than 72 hours before a flight to the islands. The second on-arrival test is a rapid antigen test, that processes results in 15-20 minutes.
Jack E. Richards, president and CEO of Pleasant Holidays, said: “As Hawaii begins to welcome travelers again, some confusion remains on protocols and where travelers can go to get pretravel testing that meets the Islands’ stringent requirements. CVS Health is one of the Covid-19 trusted testing partners approved by the state of Hawaii, has more than 2,800 testing locations across the continental U.S. and can provide test results typically within two to three days for a cost of 139 USD per person.”
Pleasant Holidays and Journese have added dynamic links on their websites to CVS Health’s Voluntary Covid-19 testing page and to destination travel restriction information worldwide. Travel Advisors can share the CVS Health link with their clients who can then schedule an appointment for pretravel testing at a nearby location.
