Klook, the travel and leisure e-commerce platform, has just announced over 300% quarterly growth, marking one of the strongest quarters in its eight-year history.
Tourism keeps recovering after the pandemic. Interest in tourism is on the rise, as the number of searches for travel products on the Klook platform increased by more than 140% over the same period last year. Klook quadrupled the number of bookable services on the platform, and recovered strongly in destinations such as Singapore, South Korea, Australia and Malaysia. In the best performing markets, Klook’s cross-border travel revenue increased by 40% compared to pre-Covid. Since Japan announced its reopening, the platform has recorded 10 times more searches for Japan-related keywords from travelers around the world.
Ethan Lin, CEO and Co-Founder of Klook, said: “As Asia’s leading travel and leisure platform, we are constantly evolving and improving to help the tourism recovery in the region. Aside from exceeding pre-pandemic revenue in many of our markets, our strong 2Q demonstrates the strength of the brand and the industry in which we operate.”
Klook also boosts multifaceted cooperation with the National Administration of Tourism of other destinations to inspire, develop new experiences, rebuild confidence in safe travel policies, etc. and thereby speed up the recovery process.
“After 2 years of pandemic, many people are willing to travel again. That’s why we’re redoubled our efforts to bring the best experiences and most unique events to the Klook platform, for example Avatar: The Experience in Singapore to inspire travel and discovery. The tourism industry is facing a promising future, and we seize this opportunity to empower the next generation of travelers and bookable experiences,” said Eric Gnock Fah, CEO and Co-Founder of Klook.
On the 8th anniversary, Klook offers customers many attractive global travel deals and introduces many new features on the platform. One notable feature is the redesigned destination discovery feed using user-generated content sources from Klook’s archive of over 7 million verified user reviews. They can easily see suggestions and recommendations from others about the best experiences in the places they care about. Klook will also launch a new trip feature, allowing users to automatically create a personal itinerary and share it with family and friends.
