CNN, the well-known American television network, has begun airing commercials introducing the cultural and gastronomic festivals of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) to audiences in Asia-Pacific and North America.

This is the first time that Ho Chi Minh City has been prominently advertised on a world-renowned television channel such as CNN. This advertisement highlights the city’s prominent tourist sites, traditional festivals, and unique culinary culture.

The advertisement is shown three times per day till the end of December 2022. The advertisement is expected to reach a larger audience in the Asia-Pacific region as well as North America, attracting visitors from other key tourism regions across the world.

According to data, Ho Chi Minh City welcomed a total of 2.65 million international tourists in the first ten months of the year, accounting for 76% of the target set for 2022. From now through the end of the year, it is projected to welcome 3.5 million foreign tourists.

According to Google Flights data, Ho Chi Minh City is presently ranked second among the top ten most sought travel locations by Americans in 2022, following only London. Furthermore, during the year-end vacations, Ho Chi Minh City was one of the 15 most searched cities by tourists.

Previously, Hanoi used CNN to promote tourism to international tourists in 2017-2018 for a charge of $2 million. Hanoi has currently paid an additional $4 million to continue advertising on this TV channel till 2024.
