Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City rise up in the list of global cities

According to Euromonitor International (UK) statistics, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have increased significantly in the list of 100 most desirable tourist cities in 2022. 

Ho Chi Minh City, in particular, jumped 11 places from the previous year to rank 79th. Meanwhile, the capital of Vietnam, Hanoi, rose six places to 88th on the list of 100 best city destinations in 2022.

This is the result of a research process conducted on 100 cities throughout the world based on categories including tourism performance, economic and business performance, tourism policy and attractiveness, tourism infrastructure, health and safety and sustainability.

Paris, France, has been named the best city destination in the world for the second year in a row. Dubai and Amsterdam hold the next two positions, respectively. Madrid, Rome, London, Munich, Berlin, Barcelona, and New York all appear in the top ten city destinations in 2022. 

Singapore (No. 15), Tokyo (No. 20), Seoul (No. 26), Shanghai (No. 31), Bangkok (No. 39), and Taipei (No. 48) are among the Asian cities with high ranks.

In its report, Euromonitor said: “Asia is the region to watch in 2023 as the return of international travel, both inbound and outbound, is sure to shake up the rankings”.

Vietnam officially reopened on March 15, so far, it has attracted 2.95 million international tourists.
