According to data from Google Destination Insights, the global search volume for Vietnam tourism is growing rapidly by about 50% to 75% – considered to be the 4th highest in the world.
The growth in search has continuously maintained a high rate since Vietnam fully opened its doors to tourism on March 15. According to the data, the countries most searched for tourism in Vietnam are mainly the US, Singapore, Australia, Japan, India, France, Germany, Thailand, Canada, and the UK. The most popular destination among international tourists is Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Phu Quoc, Da Nang, Hoi An, Nha Trang, Da Lat, Phan Thiet, Hue, and Quy Nhon.
More specifically, the world’s search volume for flight routes to Vietnam has increased sharply from March, by the end of April, the growth rate is 1,114%, and by May it continues to increase, with some days reaching up to 2,000% when compared to last year. In addition, the search volume for lodging establishments in Vietnam has increased by 4 times from the beginning of April to the middle of May.
According to the General Statistics Office, the number of international visitors has increased sharply in May, with 172.9 thousand arrivals, an increase of 12.8 times from last year. Although this number is still low compared to the time before the epidemic, this high growth rate has created a good signal for Vietnam’s tourism industry.
