The People’s Committee of Danang City has organized an inauguration ceremony for the expanded APEC Sculpture Garden after a year of construction with a total investment capital of 759 billion VND.
The APEC Sculpture Garden is a new architectural highlight on the banks of the Han River, promising to become a tourist attraction of Da Nang city. The project was built on an area of 8,668 square meters, based on the idea of a “flying kite”, expressing the desire for international integration.
The construction consists of 3 floors, is 15.7 meters high. In which, the basement has a parking area, technical rooms and an infrastructure system. The first floor is a resting space, souvenir shops and a tourist information counter for visitors. The 2nd floor located on the top is a large dome used as a community space with trees, ramps, sidewalks and lakes. The unique dome is an impressive highlight of the APEC Sculpture Garden with the idea of a “flying kite”, made up of 200 tons of raw steel.

At the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of Da Nang City People’s Committee, said: “The project not only shows the residents’ spirit of international integration, the desire to reach beyond, but also the wish for a green, friendly city, in harmony with nature, a peaceful city.”
“Danang will continue the project of artistic lighting, the river of light on both sides of the Han River. We hope this will be an attractive cultural product, raising the spirit of people in the city, and an attractive tourist product for domestic and foreign tourists,” Mr. Chinh added.
