UAE national carrier Etihad Airways will start operating flights to Guangzhou (China) next month.
It is known that flights to Guangzhou will officially go into operation on October 10, with a frequency of 2 times a week.
Accordingly, Etihad Airways will become the first international airline to operate long-haul services to China’s top three gateways: Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
Currently, Etihad Airways flights to Shanghai and Beijing have resumed in July 2020 and June 2022 respectively.
“We are proud to offer our guests a third destination in China as Etihad Airways begins flights to the pivotal and historic port city of Guangzhou,” said Martin Drew, Senior Vice President of Etihad Airways.
“Our twice-weekly service [to Guangzhou] will further address the huge demand for passenger travel between the UAE and China, as well as provide new cargo capacity, building on the formidable people and business ties between the two markets,” added Drew.
Besides Etihad Airways, Emirates is the other UAE airline operating flights to Guangzhou. Starting last month, Emirates increased the number of flights from Dubai to Guangzhou to twice a week.
The increased frequency means that the number of available seats on the current Dubai – Guangzhou route has also increased to a total of more than 1,800 per week.
