The food festival with “1,000 traditional and modern dishes” theme will take place at Ong De Ecotourism Village in Phong Dien district, Can Tho city from October 22-27, 2022.
It is held to preserve, develop, and honor the value of Vietnamese cuisine in general and the Southern region’s cuisine in particular. There will be about 100 booths with 1,000 delicious dishes, strongly focusing on Southern region’s dishes and cakes that are gradually disappearing. In addition, the festival will also organize cooking contests judged by professional chefs.

The food festival is a non-profit event. Each booth will be supported with facilities and given 1 million VND in cash after the festival ends, as well as enjoy the entire revenue during the festival.
Le Hai Phuc, Director of Ong De Ecotourism Village, said: “The organizers want to give local artisans motivation to preserve their traditional crafts.”
Also through this festival, Can Tho wishes to promote the image of its land, people, culture and cuisine of Southern Vietnam. The festival is expected to contribute to attracting tourists and boosting the province and region’s tourism industry, especially after the Covid-19 pandemic.
