Discovery Princess – Princess Cruises’ newest ship is about to launch after completing sea trials.
The Discovery Princess was put through a series of tests on its steering, navigation and propulsion equipment before it set sail from the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy.
The ship has completed a five-day sea trial and has returned to the shipyard to finish the exterior and interior, preparing for her maiden voyage. This cruise will sail to Mexican Riviera in seven days, departing from the port of Los Angeles next March.
Discovery Princess is the 6th new ship of Royal-Class with a luxurious style and capacity of 3660 guests. Discovery Princess’s other sister ships include Enchanted Princess, Sky Princess, Majestic Princess, Regal Princess, and Royal Princess.
In addition, the ship is also a Medallion Class ship offering Wi-Fi at sea and small wearables to help guests in the same tour group locate and connect, and to provide better service.
The ship will sail to the Mexican Riviera and the California coast from March 27 to April 24 next year, then head to the Pacific coast to begin a seven-day cruises from Seattle to Alaska.
