At the conference to assess the socio-economic situation in 2022 and implement tasks and solutions in 2023, the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee informed that this year, Da Lat – Lam Dong welcomed more than 7 million visitors, an increase of 340 % over the same period in 2021.
In which, it welcomed 150 thousand international visitors, and reached 100% of the plan, an increase of 700% compared to 2021; visitors registered accommodation 5.5 million times, reaching 110% of the plan, an increase of 300% over the same period in 2021. Revenue from accommodation, catering, and tourism services reached VND 11.9 trillion, up more than 122%.
Implementing Resolution No. 18-NQ/TU dated July 25, 2022 of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee on developing high-quality tourism to 2025 with an orientation to 2030, the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee has directed and organized many programs and events to attract domestic and foreign tourists. These include events such as Lam Dong Tourism Golden Week, promotion to reopen some charter flights from Korea, Thailand, Malaysia,… to Lam Dong from July 2022.
In addition, the 9th Da Lat Flower Festival 2022 is organized into a series of events throughout the year, peeking from November to the end of December. The event consists of nine main programs, organized mainly in the space of Da Lat and Bao Loc cities, along with 12 response programs and more than 30 other events.
Speaking at the conference, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee – Tran Van Hiep requested that the 2023 task must be guided by the spirit of the Prime Minister at the conference on implementing the government’s action plan. Resolution No. 23 of the Politburo, and must have a specific product.
In which, it will restructure agricultural production, toward a green economy, circular economy; concentrate on highway construction; and complete planning of Lam Dong province, the general plan of Da Lat city, and other subdivision plans.
Besides, the province needs to prepare conditions to well organize the activities of the Da Lat Flower Festival in 2022 and the Lunar New Year; continue to build, preserve, and spread the image of the land and “gentle, elegant, and hospitable” people,…
In 2022, all 18 socio-economic targets set are completed and exceeded (6 targets) compared to the plan. In which, gross domestic product GRDP increased by 11.84%; GRDP per capita is 75.3 million VND; the rate of poor households according to multidimensional standards decreased to 1.87%; total state budget revenue in the area reached VND 13 trillion, up 18.1%, equaling 118.2% of the local estimate.
Lam Dong has also attracted 23 projects, with a registered capital of more than VND 19.6 trillion, bringing the total number of projects in the province to 977 projects, with a total registered capital of about VND 146 trillion. The whole province has 109/111 communes meeting new rural standards (40 newly improved rural communes, 14 model new rural communes), 7 district-level units have been recognized as meeting new rural standards.
In 2023, Da Lat – Lam Dong aims to welcome 6.5 million tourist stays, an increase of 18.2%. In which, international visitors accounted for 250,000 arrivals, up 67%.
