British Airways operated the first flight to Tokyo after 12 months. In particular, flight BA7 departing from London Heathrow airport arrived at Tokyo Haneda airport.

This is the first passenger flight from London to Tokyo since November 2021. In October, Japan removed the Covid-19 restrictions for international tourists. Thus, tourists with three doses of vaccinations do not need Covid-19 tests when entering Japan and do not have to join packaged tours.

The recent flight was operated by a B787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, while the daily flights will be serviced by British Airways on B787-9 aircraft.

In addition to British Airways, Finnair also promoted services in Tokyo by increasing from seven to nine flights a week when the country’s borders reopened.
