According to Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in areas with level 1 and 2 of pandemic risk, activities in tourism will be operated at 100% capacity.
There are four levels of pandemic risk including Level 1: Low-risk (new normal) – labeled green, Level 2: Medium-risk – labeled yellow, Level 3, High-risk – labeled orange and Level 4: Very high-risk – labeled red.
For areas with level 3 of pandemic risk, only sightseeing activities at sites, tourist attractions, indoor events and programs under 25 people can be organized. Accommodations and food services in travel businesses may operate at no more than 50% of their capacity at the same time. Tourist accommodations with a capacity of over 50% are not allowed to welcome new guests. Means of transport for guests cannot use more than 50% of the seats.
Areas with level 4 of pandemic risk stop sightseeing activities at tourist sites and attractions; stop indoor gatherings of more than 20 people; stop the tour programs in the area, go and come to this area. Accommodations and food services in travel businesses may operate at no more than 30% of their capacity at the same time. Tourist accommodations with a capacity of over 30% are not allowed to welcome new guests. Means of transport for guests cannot use more than 50% of the seats.
In areas with level 3 and 4 of pandemic risk, tourist accommodations that receive quarantined guests at the request of competent authorities must fully comply with the epidemic prevention and control requirements of local health authorities. Services with high risk of infection such as karaoke, massage, bar, discotheque, internet, hairdressing, beauty and other services will comply with the regulations of the People’s Committees of the provinces and cities directly under the Central Government.
Travel businesses must register and self-assess Covid-19 safety daily at http://safe.tourism.com.vn in order to connect to the national Covid-19 safety system.
For tourists, customers using tourism services and people coming to contact and work with travel businesses, it is necessary to comply with the “5K Message”; protocol medical declaration or QR code scanning;
fully comply with the regulations of the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 prevention and control, the Ministry of Health and the rules of travel businesses; comply with prescribed medical tests.
For all risk levels, a test is only required in one of the following cases: Suspected or indicated for epidemiological investigation coming from a level-3 area or coming from a level-4 area or regional medical isolation (lockdown). Guests who are residents of the area don’t need testing.
For fully vaccinated people and who have recovered from the disease, only one of the following cases need to be tested: When there is a request for epidemiological investigation; coming from a level-4 area or regional medical isolation (lockdown). The Covid-19 test done by RT-PCR or rapid antigen test is valid within 72 hours since receiving the results.
