The MICHELIN Guide Abu Dhabi event showcased 42 restaurants in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. 3 restaurants received one MICHELIN Star for the high quality of their cooking, and 4 establishments received a Bib Gourmand for their delicious food and reasonable prices.

At the MICHELIN Guide Abu Dhabi, one MICHELIN Star was awarded to chef Antonio Guida’s Talea restaurant. This restaurant is known for its “Cucina di Famiglia”, or home-style Italian cuisine; Hakkasan, a restaurant that celebrates traditional Cantonese flavors; and the contemporary Japanese restaurant 99 Sushi Bar.

Accordingly, 99 Sushi Bar received a MICHELIN star thanks to the food presented beautifully, delicately and meticulously. The main goal of this classy Japanese restaurant is to emphasize the quality of the ingredients. The Spanish owners of 99 Sushi Bar import most of their seafood from their homeland, especially the red shrimp.

Hakkasan restaurant stands out thanks to its luxurious and eye-catching oriental decoration. Located within the Emirates Palace hotel, this Cantonese-led restaurant brings home another MICHELIN Star for the brand by offering its customers time-honored classics like Peking duck, Chilean sea bass with honey bee, as well as dim sum prepared with skillful technique.

In addition, 4 other restaurants were also awarded a Bib Gourmand.

Specifically, Almayass restaurant received approval from the voting board thanks to the influence of Lebanon and Armenia. The original branch was established in Beirut in 1996. The larger Abu Dhabi branch continues to offer an appetizing, abundant menu of carefully prepared and flavorful dishes.

The next name is Beirut Sur Mer, a space to enjoy Lebanese food by the sea. This restaurant has been awarded the Bib Gourmand award for its classics, from mezze to Mashawi. The space of this place is filled with color, modern features, including a beautiful terrace overlooking the beach. This is the ideal place for you to learn more about culture – food after visiting the nearby Louvre Abu Dhabi.

Otoro restaurant achieves Bib Gourmand status by utilizing contemporary Japanese cuisine with signature dishes such as yellow-tailed carp, tuna tartare with yuzu sauce, and so on. Otoro owns the large, comfortable and vibrant space.

The Tazal restaurant’s Mediterranean dishes, with their delightful blend of European influences and Arabic touches, are also awarded the Bib Gourmand. Dishes such as Tanja short ribs and Zaatar sea bream retain their original taste.

The Service Award went to Rawad Hamdan and his team at Li Beirut Restaurant. This restaurant’s dinner accompaniment service takes place with a professional, hospitable, and attentive team.

The Sommelier was awarded to Marlon Nuque, Zuma Restaurant. This is a place where diners can experience cuisine with personality and excitement. Marlon Nuque meticulously selects wine and sake. Originally from the Philippines, he changed 90% of his wine list in the first year to attract customers.

The Young Chef Award went to Luigi Stinga, Talea Restaurant by Antonio Guida. Luigi Stinga’s discerning eye, impeccable style, generous approach, and natural confidence shine through in his family-style, and flavorful dishes.
