The tourism promotion conference of Vietnam’s South-central region to India took place in Nha Trang City (Khanh Hoa), creating many opportunities to attract tourists to both India and Vietnam.
At the conference, Mr. Pham Van Thuy, the Vice Chairman of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, said: “From here to the end of 2022, there will be 21 direct air routes, over 60 flights per week connecting Vietnam and India. Convenient direct flights, simple entry and exit procedures, attractive destinations, tourism products, and warm and hospitable people are ideal conditions to promote tourism development between the two countries.”
In July 2022, the number of Indian visitors to Vietnam reached 11,700, achieving the fastest recovery rate. Travel demand between the two countries is expected to increase soon. Therefore, the promotion of flight routes aims to meet the travel demand and create links between the two markets.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, the director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Tourism, said, “This is a great opportunity to promote tourism products, understand what they need, and promote cooperation. Thus, Khanh Hoa and the other south-central provinces can attract Indian tourists.”
On behalf of India, Mr. Pranay Verma, Indian Ambassador to Vietnam, expressed, “We hope to gain cooperation agreements to bring tourists between the two countries; especially, Vietnam should develop the advantages of sea tourism and cultural tourism effectively.”
Meanwhile, the representatives of Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Ninh Thuan, and Binh Thuan provinces presented and introduced to the Indian tourism companies their local tourism products.
The National Administration of Tourism will organize national tourism promotion and advertising programs in India in the coming time. Therefore, the South Central provinces should actively participate and coordinate with each other at these events.
